Hi, I’m Sayena, a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. My goal is to create a safe, empathetic, and collaborative space where you can feel supported in your healing journey. I believe each person’s path is unique, and I approach therapy with curiosity, respect, and compassion.

I draw from a variety of modalities, including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Attachment Theory, and Gestalt Therapy. Guided by a trauma-informed lens, I tailor each session to your needs, helping you explore challenges while building on your strengths.

For over a decade, I’ve worked in community mental health agencies and psychotherapy centres, supporting people with diverse concerns. I feel privileged to witness the resilience and healing potential in every client, and I strive to foster self-awareness, balance, and self-compassion. Outside of therapy, I enjoy nature walks, gardening, and time with my family of four.

In couples therapy, I help partners navigate relational challenges, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and work through emotional wounds.

My experience includes supporting those with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, self-harm, grief, and life transitions. I believe in combining formal therapy with mindfulness and self-compassion to help clients develop the tools they need to heal. Theodora Tong is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), music therapist, and trauma-informed clinician with over seven years of clinical experience supporting individuals navigating mental health, addiction, trauma, and relational challenges. She completed her Master of Arts in Music Therapy at New York University, where she received advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, and creative arts-based treatment approaches. She has also completed specialized training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) for treating developmental and attachment trauma, as well as advanced training in Vocal Psychotherapy, which focuses on emotional expression, psychosomatic healing, and relational repair.

Her clinical experience spans addiction treatment settings, community mental health agencies, and private practice, where she has supported both voluntary and court-mandated clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use challenges, relationship difficulties, self-worth issues, and major life transitions. She has extensive experience facilitating both individual psychotherapy and therapeutic groups, helping clients build healthier coping strategies while addressing the deeper emotional patterns that often keep them feeling stuck.

Theodora believes healing extends beyond cognitive insight alone. By integrating evidence-based psychotherapy with body awareness, creative expression, and relational healing, she helps clients process experiences held both emotionally and physically to create deeper and more lasting change.

Clinical Approach Theodora’s approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, psychodynamic, and highly relational. She works particularly well with clients who are insightful and self-aware but continue to feel stuck in recurring emotional or relationship patterns. Her work often focuses on individuals who were required to “grow up too fast” and are now navigating the long-term effects of attachment trauma, anxiety, depression, self-worth challenges, and relational wounds.

She integrates modalities such as NARM, psychodynamic therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Jungian-informed parts work, mindfulness practices, and psychosomatic interventions. Her specialized training in vocal psychotherapy, guided imagery, music therapy, and creative modalities allows clients to access emotions and experiences that may be difficult to process through traditional talk therapy alone.

Theodora provides a calm, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients can safely explore their experiences, strengthen emotional regulation, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others.
